The easiest way to swap a 5.0L over and have it be reliable is to get a 5.0L donor car. 5.0L cars have better brakes, drive axle, transmission, suspension, bigger radiator and don't cost much more any way.
If i were you i'd find either a 5.0L wrecked donor car, or i'd save up and buy a 5.0L otherwise, you'll be spending alot of money to convert a car that won't have much added value than before when you had a 2.3L.
