4 banger problems
My dad has a 1989 lx convertable 4 cyl. We had the engine rebuilt about 2 yrs ago, maybe 3. The car runs well, except it stalls at just about every stop light. We cannot seem to find the problem. Any suggestions? Anyone else have this problem with the 2.3? Its really starting to get annoying.

if you can feel he brake peddal shutter and the car shakes a little when the enging dies it could be the alternator. hope that helps.

I would also guess the alternator. I don't know if the 4 banger was carborated in 89, if it is, it could be the carb calibration. Once the car warms up, the idle mixture could be too lean or rich, stalling out the engine. I'd put my money on the alternator, though.
