Angry clutch has PMS----HELP

The clutch on my 99 3.8 is driving me CRAZY (short drive) She has 60k and everything is stock. sometimes the clutch will release and sometimes it won't. When its cold everything works fine. When it warms up it won't release enough to get into 1st when stopped and it shifts hard.(sometimes that is) Other times when hot, she shifts fine. One thing is predictable. When shes warmed up and I go to reverse then back to 1st, it sticks so bad I almost always have to shut the engine off to shift into 1st, then restart. At the next stop light it may work ok. I looked at the quadrant and the paw looks good and is holding although its close to the end of its adjustment. The pedal always feels the same no matter what. If it were the cable stretching would't the problem be more consistant? Could the pilot bearing be hanging up? Thanks for any help.
