Default 3.8 L vs. 5.0 K-member any difference?

I was wandering is the 1983 3.8 L K member any different from the 5.0 one?

It is my understanding that the only "different" K member was used for the early in-line six cylinder engines. The K member in my son's '86 four cylinder car is the same as the K member for the 5.0. Hope this helps.

would the same go for a 1997 v6 k member vs a v8? i keep getting i dont know as answers from everyone.
