2.3 to 2.3T eec-iv wiring
I am using a 1988 turbo coupe engine with a standard transmission to put in my 1990 lx mustang that has a automatic trans. What wires from the thunderbird do i need to put in my car. Please describe in detail what abreviations mean(ie. bcs=?) and a brief description of where to find it and what it looks like. Do I need an auto eec-iv from a Turbo Coupe or can I use the manual one I already have? Thanks in advance.

Are you replacing your aod to a 5spd? *if you aren't then u need to swap the fly-wheels around (i.e.-put the flywheel from the n/a auto on the 2.3T) >What wires from the thunderbird do i need >to put in my car. Vaf/vat (Vane air flow/vave air temp. 4 wires) BCS (boost control solenoid 2 wires, 2 vacuum lines) However this can be by-passed, of course you will need a boost guage. >Do I need an auto eec-iv from a Turbo Coupe >or can I use the manual one I already have? Well, if you plan on using your aod then yes you need a computer from an auto TC. >Thanks in advance. Oh,
The VAF/VAT is on the airbox, will have 4 wires in one plug. The bcs is round, 2 wires, 2 vacuum lines running to and from the turbo, not sure of exact location, but is located near the airbox. ------------------ Brad 88lx 2.3T s www.turboford.org "When a Saleen blows by the NSX, at least the NSX owner can say that his extra $30k was worth it because his cup holders work better." |

Don't need it. If u run crappy gas, keep the boost way, way down. If you use premium gas you can run the boost way way up. The octane switch just determines what kind of octane u have and adjust the timing and boost to keep from detonating.
