Need more info on K&N and removing intake silencer
I've gotten a few suggestions about installing a K&N air filter and removing the intake silencer on my 2000 stang. Does anyone have and more info, like what K&N filter should I go with, and how to remove the silencer? Has anyone done this to a 2000 3.8L and what were the results?

My brother just got a 2000 3.8. Taking the air silencer off was no big deal. There are a couple of screws that you need to take loose to be able to move the whole box around. Once you do that the air silecer preety much just pulls off. Its just held in by a kind of rubber channel. As far as the filter goes he just bought the normal replacement K&N and put it in. There wasn't a huge differece but I'm sure its better than stock. Hope I helped some.
