Question Bronco II vapor lock?

Ok, I just bought an '84 Bronco II and it loses power and shuts down every once in awhile. We wait a little while and all is fine again. We tried insulating the metal fuel line but to no avail. I believe this truck has a mechanical fuel pump would switching to an electric setup help?
