Post Changing Brake Calipers on 88 Mustang LX

Hi,

When I went to change the brake pads on my uncles 88 Mustang, the bolts to the calipers were not normal. They were like a star studded inted..kinda of like an on of those 5 star screwdrivers? Does anyone know how to get these out? Do I just hammer them out or what? Thanks

Shaun

Those are Torx bolts and require a Torx socket (available through all tool vendors and at most car parts stores). Although i don't exactly know what size they are, if you buy a small kit you should be able to find a 3/8" drive set that'll fit on any 3/8" ratchet. Once you get the right tools, they'll come out just like regular bolts and tighten the same way. Good luck!
