I guess the answer would be no, I never did locate the source of the surging problem nor did I investigate the cam sensor. The problem has seemed to go into remission. It has been a coupple of weeks since the surging (which used to occure on a daily basis) has stopped. When the condition returns, as I'm confident it will, the cam sensor will be the first thing I look at. Your help is greatly appreciated.
