Installing a 4.6L in a 62 Falcon Futura
We are installing a 96 4.6L Cobra Motor in a 62 Ford Falcon Futura. Has anyone ever done this before? Does anyone know what suspension mods will be required and what type of suspension will work? Will a Mustang II bolt up or can you use a later model suspension? Like bolting in 96 mustang sub-frames? We would like to buy a wrecked mustang and use the suspension instead of installing an after market suspension if possible. We would also like to bolt a C-4 tranny to the back of the 4.6L does this require a special bell housing? We will also be changing the rear end leaf springs, to update this can we also use a mustang rear suspension? The sub-frame appears to be similar to a 60's model mustang are these the same sub-frames, or does anyone know what the sub-frames are compatable with? Were the early mustangs built on the falcon platform? We can use all the help we can get on this.
