T-5...Grinding noise in neutral...
I can hear a slight grinding/ vibrating noise when the tranny is in neutral maybe about 90% of the time. When the clutch is depressed the noise goes away. Any ideas on what this could be? I'm not going to worry about it for now because it still shifts okay. It does have a B&M shifter if that helps any. Thanks...

im not a tranny expert by any means, but i'll take a stab at it
you said it shifts fine so i dont think its in the tranny, more like in the clutch/pressure plate area. throwout bearing maybe? sorry i couldnt help more.

Your trans will probably fail soon. Mine made the same noise after a race. Finally I powershifted 3rd and blew a hole in the case.

It is doing the exact samt thing mine did. The noise wasn't present when going down t he road, when the clkucth was pressed or when it was even in gear but not moving. The bearings on the lower shaft wewre the culprit in mine. It really sounded like a rotation noise of some type. I ordered a Kit from Hanlon Motorsports for about a$225 and it fixed it. It was a master rebuild kit. It came with all the seals, synchros, retainers, bearings and races. I highly recommend it soon for you.

I think you might be right, Pony Power. Thanks... I better start saving my pennies for that tranny rebuild I'm going to need soon. Bummer, but I hope it won't be for awhile...

I really think that is your problem. You might want to take it to a professional jsut in case though. I dont wnat to give advice that makes you spend unnecessasary money. If you do do the rebuild I highly recommend Hanlon Motorsports though.
Good luck with it man, Brad

if the noise is present with the car in gear, moving down the road, but the clutch depressed, then it sounds like a tranny problem. however, if the noise is present with the car in neutral, not moving, clutch depressed, the problem sounds like a throwout bearing. and finally, if the noise is present when the clutch is released, in neutral, car not moving, it can be a problem in the tranny.
