What is this & where did it come from?
I was in the process of removing my dashboard when I heard this clink on the floor-pan. I'm guessing it came from my steering column, maybe. The piece is attached below.
Where does it go? What is it? I hope someone can help. Thanks. Dimensions ------------- 1 1/2" x 1" |

Does you key still work/turn in the tumbler? I've never had a stang column apart, but it looks like it controls something turning/interlocking.

No, it doesn't do anything when I try to turn the key. It just turns, but does not "click-over" to start the car. So, it's must have something to do with it, and it does:
It goes inside the ignition switch so that's why it's so hard to find. -Rock007 Last edited by Rock007; 04-29-2003 at 04:17 PM.. |

That piece would be the contacts from your ignitions switch, it came from the right side your your steering wheel and there should be two springs with it a larger on and a smaller one, you'll need both those for your ignition to work, i used one from a junk yard should only cost about $10 or $15.
