Is it worth it to purchase a 95 mustang?
Hey,
I'm a teenage driver, and i just turned 18 and my mom and i are in hunt for my first car. Every girls dream is to get a mustang, and to my surprise my mom actually said okay. My problem is that i found a 95 mustang for sale, however the mileage is really high. (Something like 200km) Is it worth it to purchase this car, because we are worried about how long it will last for. Otherwise the car is in great shape, the owner just bought another car and doesnt need his mustang anymore. Well thanks! |

Take the car to a mechanic your Mom trusts. The milage is high, but if the previous owner took good care of the car it should be okay as long as you don't plan on doing any street racing. Also if you do buy the Stang, go and have ALL the fluids changed, as well as all the filters. I just bought my 16 yr old son a conv. stang he loves it, but you cant see everything, the timing belt broke, so I'm fixing that. Good luck.

95's arent bad. It was the first year for the 4.6 v-8 (if its a GT). I agree with reconman. Good luck

Re: Is it worth it to purchase a 95 mustang?
If it's a GT you should be fine, if it's a base model (LX) with the V6 check and see if the engine has been worked on (head gaskets) or if it's been replaced. Unfortunately the '94-'98 V6 mustangs had a lot of cylinder head gasket failures as well as engine front cover leaks. If you can get the car for a very good price it's probably worth it, but if no work has been done it might be a ticking time bomb. Other than that, mustangs are actually very reliable and fun to drive. Good luck on your purchase.

listen to the reconman. i myself have a 95(v6) and like he said if the previouse owner kept it in good condition it will be fine. just make shure you have a mechanic check it out first .and no racing young lady, hehe.
