V6 power
I recently purchased a 2001 V6 Mustang. I am just looking for some horespower gains that will make the car a bit faster, but in the same time, not void the warranty. Any suggestions?

Things that won't void the warranty:
Fenderwell "cold air" induction system synthetic fluids i'm not sure on this but i don't think having after market cat-back or manifold back exhaust will void the warranty, but you may want to check. Other than that i'm not sure what else you can do. I know for a fact that having a performance chip will void the warranty.

There are a ton of things you can do to that badboy. Don't worry about the warranty, it works like this: If Ford can prove the part you installed caused the problem, they won't fix it under warranty. But, for example, if you put in some flowmasters, and your A/C goes, they have to fix it. Or, if you put gears in the rear end, and your computer goes bad, they might try and say it was the gears, but you know better, so they'll have to fix it. Get it?
If I were you, I'd first put in a true dual exhaust setup: H-pipe and flowmasters. Next, a cold air kit from Mac. Then I'd throw on some underdrive pulleys and some 3.73 gears. Assuming you drive a manual, those mods should put you mid 14's. That's what I ran in my GT when it was basically stock. Good luck! Keep us posted.

YOu can put some true duals 2 chamber flowmasters
Mac Cold air induction 3.73 gears throttle body pulley spark plugs and wires Diablo Chip K&N Filter Take the Air silenser off that will give you about 1HP for free The thing I recomend is that if you put a chip if you ever have problems that recuire putting the car in the machine you should switch the chips to the stock just so they wont say it was cause of the chip . But if you go to www.diablosport.com theirs a place that sais that even if you leave your diablo chip on they cant void your warranty cuz its illegal to do it. ____________________ 00 automatic V6 3.73 gears K&N filter<<<<cut filter box out 2"drop 18"spoked rims with lowprofile tires GT fog lights Euro Tail Lights True dual exaust two 2chamber flowmaster Last edited by silverv6; 02-24-2002 at 06:01 PM.. |

Thanks for your help everyone. I will let you know what mods I do and what kind of difference it makes. Just for the record, I removed the air silencer. It seems to have more pick up off the line, but the high end speed seems to have diminished just a little bit. It could be my paranoid imagination, who knows. Thanks again!
