Camero vs. Small Poney
A Kid down the street just bought a stock 305 1992 Camero RS with T-tops with a 305 V-8 in it. He is totally stock. I have a 1994 V-6 With dual off-road h-pipe and two chamber Flowermasters. I have K&N Airfilter and Underdrive pullies. I also have a Steeda Short throw shifter and in about a week going to put a steeda Clutch cable in. My question is does anyone know if I can beat him. He is talking trash. I want to shut him up. Any help would be appreciated.

I don`t think I would rattle his chain. What you need to do is find a good running 5.0 to match against him.

If his car is an automatic you may tie or beat him. Those cars only have 170hp and like 240 or so ft.lbs of torque. his car also probably weighs 100+ pounds more than yours. The automatic 5.0 RS's are pretty damn slow. I bet you'll beat him if you don't spin, or at least it will be very close. Good luck, i'd run him if i were you just for fun, you're the underdog anyway with a much smaller engine.

His car is an automatic. He said his car has 280 hp. any truth to that.

The stock Z28 350 has 240 horsepower...the upgraded HO 305 had like 205 horsepower, both i believe came in the Z28, not the RS, the RS had the 170hp 305. The newer LT1 Camaros ('93 and newer ones - new rounded body style with the 350ci engine have 275 horsepower). He's totally talking out of his @ss. Just go along with it, race him and beat him and say, "wow, that's a REALLY slow car for having 280 horsepower". this link has specs for camaros: http://www.f-body.org/tech/tech.htm#ThirdGen Is his the 80's blocky style camaro (3rd generation) or the newer body style? A '92 is the older style a '93 does have 280 or so horsepower, but with a 350. Race him and see how it comes out, don't worry about what he says, because he's blowing hot air out his @ss if it's a '92 RS. GOod luck

His is a 1991 and not a 1992. It is the really long body style that is square. I am putting my clucth cable in tomorrow if I get time. I stopped by his house yesturday and he was saying just how fast his car is. He said that if you sit in it you will be just like oh my good it is so fast. It has a 305. So I do not think it is that fast. We are going to race at the strip in about two weeks. Wish me luck.
