Default Spark plugs?

Can anyone give some input concerning spark plugs for a 2000 3.8 V-6? I'm due for new plugs and would like to install something better that would give me more "oomph." However, I don't want to install too hot plugs and risk burning a hole in the top of a piston. Any input, advice, or opinions will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Uncle Bob

Unless you are running a power adder such as n20 you don't need to get a cooler or hotter plug and a hotter one isn't going to burn ya...your ignition puts out what it puts out and spark plugs make a use of that....I personally like and use autolight plugs..I use the stock autolight 25s for my 88 and autolight 24s(one step coolerfor n20)on my 93....I won't use all the splitfire crap...if you want to go one step futher you can index the plugs by marking on the porcelin where the gap is and try to get that mak facing down so as to get a quality burn.

Thumbs up

Thanks for the input, Andy. I've been getting a lot of conflicting advice, so I think I'll stick with the Autolites. One person suggested Bosch plugs, but I'm not familiar with those except the cost. Nobody, however, had anything good to say about Splitfire plugs. They compared them to snake oil.
