Red face What is this & where did it come from?

I was in the process of removing my dashboard when I heard this clink on the floor-pan. I'm guessing it came from my steering column, maybe. The piece is attached below.

Where does it go? What is it? I hope someone can help.

Does you key still work/turn in the tumbler? I've never had a stang column apart, but it looks like it controls something turning/interlocking.

No, it doesn't do anything when I try to turn the key. It just turns, but does not "click-over" to start the car. So, it's must have something to do with it, and it does:

It goes inside the ignition switch so that's why it's so hard to find.

Lightbulb What is this & where did it come from?

That piece would be the contacts from your ignitions switch, it came from the right side your your steering wheel and there should be two springs with it a larger on and a smaller one, you'll need both those for your ignition to work, i used one from a junk yard should only cost about $10 or $15.
