Default Pinging

First off, do any of you use the BXR intake. I have edelbrock heads, F303 cam, 30lb inj, fuel pressure regulator at 35psi, with 73mm C&L mass air and 70mm throttle body with BBK equal length headers, A9L comp. Currently the timing is set stock. I have checked and set the TPS and cleaned the IAB. Car idles at 850-900 RPM, but after awhile, 2-3 min, headers start to glow slightly. When I rev it, it starts to pop. If anyone has seen a BXR you know the distributor is relocated and is belt driven from the crank. What could be wrong? I'm going to get new O2 sensors this weekend and change them out as they are the origanal 87 GT's. Any help is much appreciated.

If I'm not mistaken, doesn't header glow mean you're running pretty lean?

your either running very lean, or most likely your timing is too retarded. my guess is that your timing is retarded, you said that the intake your using makes the dist. crank driven.........something must be wrong on how that was set, and your timing is more retarded than you think.

try advancing it 4 or so degrees and see what happens.

The company that made the BXR is no longer in business, Just wish I knew someone else with this intake to compare headaches to. I believe the BXR was designed by an individual and the company was BXR. Anyway, any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks
