Changing Gears
I have a 99 3.8 litre and changed the gears in it to 3:73.Now my speedo is way out of wack and no performance shop that I talk to seems to have an answer on how to fix it.The 99 stang uses an electronic speed sensor, if it was the plastic gear like in the older mustangs, I wouldn't have a problem.Any help would be appreaciated.

Hi, I have a 2000 3.8 V6 coupe with a 5 speed manual transmission. Were you changing your gear ratios? Was your modification a shorter or longer gear ratio set-up than the factory stock transmission? I admit I don't know a whole lot about some mechanical things. I am more adapt on the performance side of things. I would suggest contacting the SVO tech team at Ford. Even if your modification was not SVO related I would think they could offer something. Good luck!
