Steering column removal
I can't be the only one that's had this happen. One of the actuators (I don't know which one) between the ignition lock and the ignition switch broke on my 1997. I've looked in Haynes and Chiltons manuals, and niether of them go into any detail about breaking down the steering column so that these two pieces can be removed and replaced. Can anyone give me some info as to how this is done? I've got the covers pulled, the steering wheel pulled, and I even pulled the two bolts that hold the top part of the steering column on at the pivot point of the tilt, but that section refuses to budge. ANY help on how to replace the actuators would be AWESOME.
Thanks, James |
