Default 91 4cyl muffer?

I have a 91 2.3L stang, and needless to say it sounds pretty sad. Does anyone know of a muffler tip that I could get? or at least something I could do to the one I have?

(also, it seems like that stock tip blew up or something like that. so I"m not sure if I need to replace that first or not.)

Default Re: 91 4cyl muffer?

The reason it sounds so sad is because it's missing a few cylinders
I had to say it - i have one.

Anyway, I would get a slightly quiter (compared to the loudest mufflers) high flow muffler like a dynomax or flowmaster 3 chamber - dynomax would sound deeper, the flowmaster would sound raspier possibly irritating. Basically i personally would get any high flow "turbo" style muffler as long as it's not too loud because certain tones and pitches of the 2.3L are unbearable while it sounds ok at other rpms, so making it quieter it won't have any loud horrible gargle/farting type noises.
If you decide to go loud, you might as well just not have a muffler at all because the loud mufflers i've heard on them sound worse than a straight pipe with a catalytic converter.
I'd never get a tip or pipe that expands from the original diameter because it really creates a farting type flatulent sounds that is just irritating and usually weak sounding.
