Default internal wiring

Ok, so i pulled my engine out (was a 4 cyl) to make room for a stroker. was cleaning out the engine bay and didnt notice my friend cutting wires. he snipped almost all of them. is this something that can be replaced with a wire harness or am i just gonna have to buy a whole bunch of wire and rig up something that works?

Are you putting a fuel injected V8 in? If so, I would just buy a wiring harness for a 5.0 SEFI. If it's carbed, I'd just wire it up yourself. That's what I'm doing.

Leave that crap out and put a nice holley on. You'll have the cleanest engine bay ever and you wont have to deal with bad sensors, loose wires or a failing EEC (all things that I've spent the last 6 years wrestling with till I got my holley. Now I just turn some screws).

He might have indirectly done you a favor in the long run by forcing you to replace the wiring as I have found the electronics to be the weak link in the fords. You can buy the entire harness and it comes in a HUGE bushel of wires. Cool thing about this is now you have the option of routing the wires yourself and cleaning up the engine bay a bit. There's 25 pounds of wire associated with the EEC-iv on a fox mustang.

Yeah man, carb setup is definately easier. And some times you can make more power from a carb too, just may not be quite as streetable, but you can also set them up to be very streetable. And the wiring is basically non existant. If you run electronic ignition it's a total of probably 10 wires to get it to work. If you just run points, there's one wire off of the distributor to the coil. It's a sinch.
