Need recommendations on stuff to go with 6-9lb supercharger
I'm going to be in the market for a supercharger probably in the next 6 months or so, and i was wondering what should i get. I guess i need advise on injector size, Mass air flow meter size, and fuel pump size. will a 70mm throttle body be good with a supercharger. I'll also probably get an adjustable fuel regulator with a gauge that mounts on the fuel rail schrader valve. I'll likely run 6psi normally and change the pulley for going to the track to around 8 to 10 psi. I'm thinking a Vortech A-Trim because it sounds dependable and easy to adjust PSI with pulleys. Is there anything anyone else would recommend to go along with it, or just things that you recommend that i don't do. Thanks,

If your mustang is mostly stock the A-trim kit comes with everything you need. Your injecters will be fine with the fmu you get with the kit. You can even get the S-trim and use your injecters. It comes with the fmu, fuel pump, and boost retard. Unless your looking to do heads, intake, exhaust, and a cam change the only thing you need is a bigger maf so the blower can get the air it needs. But if you are you will need bigger injecters with a calibrated maf for the added air flow.

I already have a 70mm throttle body on the car (which is too much for it for right now, but it came with the car) and i plan on getting a cobra lower to go with the 5.0L explorer upper and i'd like to upgrade to big enough injectors to handle say 400-450ish horsepower with a matching MAF meter. Most of my driving will be either cruising or going to and from the track (and at the track). I may swap the exhaust from my '84, which has 1 5/8" shorty headers, 2 1/2" offroad h-pipe and flowtech warlock mufflers to the '89 which will give both cars better power. The aftermarket exhaust is too much for my other car, so i might as well swap....anyways, this will be mostly a drag race car, and i don't really mind spending more to get a better part.
will 30lb/hr injectors with a say 76mm MAF meter be too much for a running at 6 psi? I'm also probably going to be putting on stock ported E7TE heads with the 1.72 roller rockers that are on the car now, so i probably won't put in a new cam. Will a 155lph fuel pump be enough? Thanks for your responses, ------------------ previous name: 84stangLX '84 Mustang 5.0 LX my LX '89 Mustang GT my GT |

If you do the mods that you listed you will be o.k. except for the fuel pump. If you go with the 30's and a bigger pump you can ditch the fmu.
