Default The Right Speedo Gear...

I need a new speedo gear since I put 3.73's in stang. The b-day just passed so I have a few extra dollars to finally get the much needed gear.

Here's the question, I was looking at the steeda gear (if anybody knows another gear that will work for a cheaper price, plz let me know) and I'm a bit confused. I have a T-45 transmission, but steeda says that the same white-23 speedo gear calibrates the 3.55, 3.73, and 4.10 gear ratios. How's that? I would think that each ratio has its own gear, but according to steeda...i doesn't. Here's the site, and thanks in advance for any help.

Hmmm...well, I'd give you guys the site...but...
Go to www.steeda.com and type speedo in the search product list, and check out the recalibration gears. Thanks for the patience.

Hey Steeda, I bought and installed the white gear for the 98 GT I had. Your questions were:

1Q. Is there a cheaper calibrator?

1A. For $15.95, that's pretty cheap. I don't think you will find a better deal.

2Q. Same gear for 3.55 - 4.10?

2A. That's news to me. I remember ordering it online and specifying the calibrator for the r&p type that I installed.

Just buy it. It's cheap and easy to install. If you have any installation questions, drop me a line...

Ya, they have them for just about every mustang transmission made. But like I said...it's confusing how they same gear would work for so many differ ratios...

high or low???

I don't really care about the odometer being off (I don't ever plan on selling my baby), but it's always nice to know how many miles are actually on her.

Hey Titan, congrats on choosing your major. I'm an 24 yr. old electrical/ controls engineer for a company called Alvey. Good choice, lots of money and travel right out of school (check my sig). Be prepared for a lot of pressure though.

ANYWAY,

Yep, I tossed the speedo gear in my auto 98 GT. It's very easy to install, and only $15.95.
