Upgrading 90 LX Hatchback

I plan on upgrading my 1990 LX Hatchback. It currently has a 2.3 4 cyl. , with an automatic transmission. I plan on dropping in a 5.0L GT-40 SVO 320 HP Engine and installing a T-5 Transmission. Now I know that i'm going to need new suspension , exhaust , etc etc etc etc. But , my question is does anyone know what specific areas of my 'Stang are going to need to be changed and upgraded? What kind of different suspension , rear-end , mounts , clutch , sway bars , etc. am I going to need to make this change? Any information anyone can provide is greatly appreciated.

Post your questions in the "Windsor Power" forum. You'll get tons of information from people there.

Good luck.

Thats a broad question, first thing I would say is that you are correct, clutch and exhaust will have to be changed. Another thing to think about is the 7.5 rearend wont last long under the load (and abuse) of a V8, but remember, thats the same rearend in all the early GT's pre-86. An 8.8 would be a good upgrade. As for the sway-bars, the V8's rear sway bar is almost a most have. (I highly recommend it on the 4cyl to V8 swap), but the 4cyl springs will work, although you might want to swap over the V8 springs. But what you didnt say is if you were going to make it fuel injected or carb. Thats the hard part. Keep posting and I am sure myself and other members will be willing to help. Good luck, and hope this helps.
