What does a vette Z06 run in the quarter?
Are those Z06 vettes 12 sec cars stock?
|
The new ones definitely run deep into the 12s.
------------------ Russ L '91 LX Procharger, 3 row intercooler, extrude honed Cobra intake, Mac full Length Headers, 30# inj., 73mm C&L, 75mm tb, E303 cam, 289 rods, ported E7 heads, MSD, T-Rex w/255 lph Walbro, 5 lug conversion, Cobra R wheels, 3.27 gears and Moser Axles. |
12.6-12.7 is what I've heard. Definitely close to Viper territory.
Rev ------------------ '66 Coupe, 306, 300 HP, C-4, 13.97 e.t., 100.3 mph 1/4 mi. |
I've had it thrown in my face that I'd have to run better than 12.09 to beat my boss(just bought a z06). I just told him "Lets line them up". He doesn't wanna race though, hmm.. He drives it to work daily, if i had it.. I wouldn't..

I dont remember which magazine, but 2002 = 12.2 @ 117 stock

Got to make a pass finally! 8.44 @ 85mph on regular radials. My new website: <A HREF="http |
It depends totally on the driver. I saw 2 at the track by my house and 1 was running low 13s, but at 113. The other guy that could drive and has made many passes was running 12.30s @ 115-117. I spoke to him and he said he had a Borla exhaust and some intake mods. They are beautiful cars. He was interested in the turbo in my car because he has never seen or heard of a turbo 4.6 before. I have been more than 1 second and 5-8 mph more than the ZO6 so they don't scare me.

I asked him about his car again tonight. He said 2001 model and it should run 12.6. I said I thought you said 12.09.. he just shook his head no. I wonder where the heck I got the 12.09 from..

my boss owns a 2000 viper and a 2001 Z06, he said there is no comparison power wise, he said the viper just has gobs more torque, but overall he said the Z06 handles just as well and stock versus stock it stops better than the viper. He has Hennessy exhaust,355 gears, smooth tubes,6 piston calipers, and some other stuff on the viper, he is really into SCCA racing.

I saw one run at the track the same night I ran a 12.1@120 with my old setup....he ran a 13.6@112. There was also a 93 Viper that ran a 13.1@110. So....there ya go. I also left one hard core on the highway...but that was with my new motor before I blew out my tranny http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/biggrin.gif

Working for Skip Barber here in Florida my office is a GTS Viper everyday. Owning a Z06 I can tell you that the Viper will smash the Vette every time, anywhere.
To answer your question the Z06 goes 12.70's in the quarter. check out www.hennessymotorsports.com for a 830 horse twin turbo GTS viper, shows a 10.10 pass video clip. |
gtsr515 Watch out for the new ZO6's though...rumors of 118 traps with those might give your Viper a run for its money.
you left out the "e" on hennessEy. www.hennesseymotorsports.com |
thanks, but you got it backwards, I work IN the Viper and OWN the Z06, the Vette has such a better suspension than the Viper in MY opinion, if Chevrolet big wigs would only give us say 420 horse, the Vette could compete with the Viper straight line and kill it on a road course.
Thanks for the spelling correction, I'm usually good at that. Do you know anything about the WRX, drove a students car on the Autocross, man that thing is a F'in BLAST to drive. Thinking about getting one. :D |
yeah...sorry, I meant "your" as in the one you were talking about.
I also didn't mean to sound rude about the correction, I wasn't slamming....I just tried to access it but I realized that the e was missing....that car is bad! the WRX....is that the aussie bowtie??? it is bad |
Hey, no problem I didn't think you were rude at all.
The Impreza WRX is a Subaru. 227 turbo-horses and AWD. 0-60 in 5.6 I love Saleens, my dream car is an S7R Later. |
