new to the MUSTANG World
 
New to the world of Mustang's and need help with all word and abbreviation of word concerning mustangs. Does anyone have a mustang for dummies manual or can help a newbie out

what year is your stang? stang as in mustang,5.0 means you have a five liter motor. T5 means you have a 5 speed manual, AOD means you have a automatic transmition. hope this help you a little

Being a little more specific:
T5 = Tremec 5 (manual)
AOD = Automatic overdrive (automatic)
C4 and C6 are also automatics

tb= throttle body
mas= mass air sensor(maf, same thing)
190 lph= 190 liters per hour(fuel pump)
fmu= fuel management unit(for blowers)
There really are quite a few, just ask. We'll tell you.

A few more...

SD=speed density
IAB=idle air by-pass
WOT=wide open throttle
TPS=throttle positioning sensor
TQ=torque
when someone writes "3.73's or 2.73's or 4.10's", they are referring to the gear ration of the rear end.

There are many more, but I can't recall 'em right now. If some of these are really obvious to you, I'm not trying to patronize you, but I don't know your level of experience. Feel free to ask if you have any questions.

By the way, welcome to Mustang Works....without a doubt the best site on the internet for late model mustang performance.

Welcome Welcome!@ You will learn tons here. BTW: Foxbody, not trying to be a bich, a T5 is made by Borg Warner, tremec and the TKO are made by TTC(transmition technologies corporation)
