Insurance at the race track??

My insurance company says that if I wreck my car at the track they won't cover me. Does anyone know a company that I can take a one day policy out with so that if I wreck my car I'm not screwed???

If you wreck your car at the track I suggest you push it out of there and down the street then call them. Thats what I have plans to do if I ever sideswipe the wall. http://www.mustangworks.com/interact...rd/biggrin.gif

Yep, that's about the size of it. YOu wreck it at the track, leave the track and call some one. Back in Oct 2k, on the very first run of the day, some 16-19 year old kid wrecked his dad's 98 Cobra. Needless to say, it kinda brought us down a bit for the rest of the day. (OH yeah, this was an all Ford show BTW @ the strip)

finally a reason to be happy the least valuable part of my car is the body. If I wreck it I'll just dump the driveline in another one.

I am with n20lx. I am building up an 88LX notch. The body with a blown engine minus tranny only cost me $500. That sure beats spending some time in the pokey http://www.mustangworks.com/interact...board/wink.gif

At the track near my house they make you sign a waver that basicly says that if you wreck you car or get hurt that they aren't responsible.

My insurance company says the same thing. I think that I why I do not go to the track.

Not only will they not cover me for the crash, they kick me out! And once you are kicked, here in Canada, it is hard to get back with anyone.

For me it is not worth it!

There are a few companys that have race car insurance but exclude coverage in restricted area meaning the racing surface.this coverage is meant for full time racecars with no other coverage. otherwise your own coverage should apply in the pits or parking lot. if you wreck on the track you are out of luck.

I do know of one guy who wrecked at a road course & was covered.the loophole was the cars were not being timed it was an open track session.95 Cobra with over 12k in damage. I'm sure that company looked over it's policy after that.
