Question about heads
 

Can I use the heads from a 351 on my 302? What's involved in the swap and will I gain any extra hp?

Yes, the 351 heads will bolt to a 302, but I don't know how much HP you will gain. I don't think it would be much as not many people do it.

O.k, the reason I ask is because I have a 351, I really don't want to put it in my stang...yet. I am considering a stroker kit for it first etc, Another quick question, will my headers bolt up as well? I realize these are kinda dumb questions but I really don't know a lot about this kinda stuff. Aside from changing motors and trannys I don't have a bunch of automotive expertise.

YES THE HEADS WILL FIT , HOWEVER THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE 302 AND THE 351 HEADS BETWEEN 1973 AND CURRENT AT ALL , THE ONLY DIFFERENCE REALLY IS THE TRUCK HEADS OF RECENT IE. E7'T'E HEADS THE T STANDS FOR TRUCK, THE INTAKE RUNNERS ARE A LITTLE BIT LONGER, HOWEVER, PRE 72 351 HEADS HAVE LARGER VALVES SO THERE WOULD BE A SLIGHT IMPROVEMENT.IE. 1.84 IN 1.54 EX VS. 1.78 IN 1.45 EX.
