Oil pan install, how complicated?
 
I was told I would have to lift the motor to change the oil pan, is this correct? Another guy said you can do it by dropping the rack and pinion? Any suggestions as to a good replacement pan? I've heard Canton makes a nice one with a built in crank scraper. Thanks for any response.

I have not done it, but from the looks of things underneath, it would probably be easiest to lift the motor to get at it. Might be a nice time for a main support while you're in there. Good luck and let me know if you find an easier way.

yes you would have to hoist the engine there is no way around it and canton makes an excellent product, ive put on a few of of those pans and they go right on no problems. changing a pan is not an easy job.

It does not look easy, which is why I'm still sitting here with stock oil pump and bearings at 167,000 miles!! http://www.mustangworks.com/interact...gboard/eek.gif One of these days I'll do it, I have the new pump and bearings, but I'm saving for a motor, and by the looks of it, I may get the new engine before I ever get around to that!!!
