A Maaco Ambassidor paint job is only 250, they don't even take time to sand the car, so you can have it back in hours! Choose any houspaint color you like! I would say a real paint job would be around 1k?

I plan on spending about $2k on the paint job for the 89, when the time comes. I'm very picky, so I want the best paint job I can get. If I wasn't so picky I could get a decent paint job for around $1200.

I got a paint job on an 88 gt I use to have. It cost me around $2300. It looked sooo much better afterwards. They even touched up all the black trim around the windows. I was happy with it.

all i can say is do some research on who paints it for you.
i had my blazer painted and just went by price and looked around at what was currently being worked on. got what i paid for, it pisses me off everytime i look at it! place went out of business 2 weeks later too, so i could not do anything about it.
last time i checked around here a quality paint job cost around $2500 and up (including the labor to smooth any dings and possible surface problems)
oh i only paid $1200 and it shows!

Ambassidor paint jobs are ok if your about to sell your car and want it to look nice, but if you want it for more than a yeah then go for a good base/clearcoat. It'll cost a few benjamins more but it's well worth it to protect the body from rust and such. A general rule of paint is that the cheaper the price, the lower the standards. Spend a few more bucks to do it right.
