What can a person do if someone online is harassing by email, etc?

I know someone who is constantly being harassed online during game play and also she gets emails from this guy constantly harassing her.
She has called the FBI and until she is threatened, they said they can take no action in the matter. She has called her ISP and they tell her just to forward all of his emails to them so they can see what is happening. She has called the manufacturer of this particular game, and they said they would ban this guy.Welp, they have not followed through.

Personally,I would like to have alittle confrontation with this "guy" then I know it would stop..

What else can a person do in a matter such as this?

Well, I'm pretty sure a lot of email providers allow for the blockage of certain addresses. As far as the game board, don't know what you can do about that.

Has she let the *** know to knock it the **** off, yet?

You can't be reasonable with those people. Can't throw them a bone or anything.

When something sort of like this happened I just set up a filter to trash the emails before I read them.

Another time when I had ethernet and the guy was on a modem, I just emailed him the contents of a couple of CDs in text format...

Simple solution: block the emails and stop playing the game. Playing your favorite game is not worth being constantly harassed.

LOL @ the CD text format, hehehehe. http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/biggrin.gif Mail bombs are fun, too.

Only other thing I can say is to get back in touch with the game vendor and keep harassing THEM until action is taken. Good luck. http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/smile.gif

Im an officer in virginia and it is ilegal to harass someone by email and they can be prosecuted. Check with your local law enforcment agency for more info.

I'm gonna let her know about this, thus being the case law enforcement can stop this from becoming a worse situation.

This may be a crazy idea, but it will completely stop this harrassment from this individual: She should change her email address. All the people she needs to get emails from she can email her new address to before she changes or if it's for confirmation for things like insurance, etc. She can call them up and have them update their computer. It shouldn't be that hard to change her email address or to get one from hotmail or excite mail like mentioned above.
