I need Therapy

My wife and I have had our Focus for a week now, and we can't wait to install a turbo, or a supercharger on it. Then today I came to a realization, why in God's name would I spend that much on a Focus? Have I lost my mind? Or is the Horsepower bug just that unstopable?
I should be spending all that hard earned cash on the Cobra like any other red blooded American. We've already bought and installed a K&N, and have settled on a suspension kit for it. All I can hope for is that I do not turn into a "Ricer", but in case I do, someone swear to me that they will shoot me.....please! http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/smile.gif

Its the horsepower bug man. And it sounds like you got it. http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/biggrin.gif I know I do

My mom is thinking on giving me her 1978 Caddillac Fleetwood (with only 74,000 org mi) to "tune up" http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/biggrin.gif . I found myself instantly hitting the net of hot rod parts for the 425.

Then while at a swap meet, I saw a Eaton roots blower from a Super coupe and thought about buying it to convert my moms 88 Cougar to a SC 3.8 . Cougar http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/biggrin.gif

Then there was the lawn mower incident. http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/biggrin.gif

Oh yeah, I've got the power bug bad....Okay nevermind..I've said to much.

Ever seen those lawnmower races? Pretty hilarious. Bunch of beer guzzling oldtimers drag racing riding lawn mowers. I think its on TNN once in awhile.

rbatson 05-19-2001 04:05 PM

Don't you dare spend hard earned money on a blower for that Focus. what are you.. crazy?? I'd put that money to good use, maybe something for the Cobra. That focus is transportation... that's it! Thats the way I look at it anyhow http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/smile.gif
The lawnmower thing sounds good to me though, lots cheaper too. I'll go hang out with the beer guzzling old timers..

LOL I just inherited (sp?) my Dad's Olds eighty eight, and already am looking for the supercharger that came as an option for it... I have a K&N on it now... lol
So far all I can get is 16's with it on the G-Tech, but I'll be happy with 15's!!
Have fun, but don't forget the Cobra!! If you're running out of things to buy the Cobra, then by all means, upgrade the Focus... Just don't put one of those huge exhausts on it!!!! http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/eek.gif

Not exactly the kind of therapy I was looking for, but it helped! Can you see me running 13's on a Cub Cadet?
Now that would be Therapy, or dire need of it. One or the other.
The Cobra will never be done, ever. I can name 10 things I need right this minute:
1. New driver's side mirror.
2. New headlights (my 7 year old son helped wash the car with a brillo pad)
3. Valve seals.
4. Oil pan gasket.
5. New heads or Port work.
the list goes on and on and on and on and on......

You can only shoot me if I turn into a Ricer. You know, the whole huge wing on the back, 18" chrome wheels with tires that stick out 5" from the fender, the huge fart can out the back, and stickers all over the car thing.

The turbo is just to wake the thing up a bit. Did you know that Steeda has an underdrive pulley for it? And I mean pulley as in one pulley. Ehh, whatever.

I'm getting off work early tonight to take it to the track to see what it will run. I'm guessing mid to upper 11's on the 1/8. But I'll post them later.

WHITECOBRAGIRL94 05-24-2001 11:37 AM

Sorry 13sec95vert, if you
shoot him, I still get the
Cobra.(seeing as how it is in
my name). So you'd have to
shoot me too.

I agree some mods need to be
done to the focus, like
lowering. That cars a**
sticks so far up in the air,
worse than the Cobra. And
larger tires(It has 195
series!) But hey you spin
them in 1st and 2nd quite
easily and I beat a new GT
for about the first half
second the other day. He he!

bigwhitecobra 05-24-2001 11:44 PM

Honey....no offence, but you are a dork. A big raging dork. Ok, I'm done.

rbatson 05-24-2001 11:49 PM

First the blower controvery, now this.. sounds to me like someone is going to be living in the van, down by the river... http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/biggrin.gif

lyonsd 05-25-2001 08:04 AM

Did somebody say "Therapy"? http://turboconnection.com/showcase/therapy

WHITECOBRAGIRL94 05-25-2001 12:06 PM

A dork? Ha! You could only wish you could
marry someone that dumb so you would have
control. I don't see you figuring out which
bill to pay when.

bigwhitecobra 05-26-2001 05:39 PM

Speaking of RIVER......I'm headed out there now. We are going to be doing a little grillin' and fishin'. God, aren't we rednecks? Or is that AIN'T we rednecks? Eh, whatever.

On the Focus front, everything has been put on the back burner for the time being. I want to get the Cobra and GT going first, for obvious reasons. But the turbo is in the works.......sort of. Ok, I'm done, the wife is accusing me of blabbing. do I sound like I'm blabbing, nope didn't think so. But....

Later.
