brakes
On and 87-93, any suggestions? I think that I am going to convert the rear to discs, any suggestions on kits? Also, on the front; Can I get away with just getting drilled/slotted rotors of the stock size or should I buy one of those (expensive)upgrade kits (13in), in which case I will also have to get 17in wheels (expensive)? Don't get me wrong, I know that cars cos a lot of money, but I would like to spend as little as possible.

Well depending on how much you really want to spend will determine which brakes to get. I'm personally saving up for a nice set of Baer Brakes http://www.baer.com/ all round. Pretty expensive depending on which package you get. There is also the Cobra brake conversion which I believe requires 17" tires. You also might want to check into Stainless Steel Brakes www.ssbrakes.com also I think Brembo http://www.brembo.com/ makes some pretty good brake kits. Hope this helps some.

I was actually looking at that exact cobra kit (13" rotors) that requires 17" tires. It is expensive by itself and requires new wheels (!) but I think it will be worth it. Right now i am looking for a 87-93 hardtop to build up for road racing (right now i just have a convert) and want to go all out, but like most people don't want to spend a lot.

The front brakes are much more important. I'm pretty sure the front/rear brake ratio is 80%/20%. You have to go big on the front. It's expensive, if you want good road racing brakes you have to do it. If only I had the money....
