Some questions
 

I'm ordering a 302 roller motor, with gt40p heads, and an x303 cam. Will the stock valve covers work with the 1.6 roller rockers? And will an 83 302 Timing cover fit? I want to finish putting the motor together before I swap it in. Let me know, any help will be appreciated.

Are the rockers adjustable or bolt down? I'm not sure about the adjustable, but the bolt down should fit.

On the timing cover, is it going into a 94-95? If so, then no. The motors in those cars were moved forward and use a special water pump and timing cover to clear the rad.

Yeah, I think the '83 timing chains still had the hole in the timing chain cover for the fuel pump drive, don't they. I suppose you could weld over it but it'd be easier just to buy one for your application.

The motor is going into a 90LX. Can I just throw on a block off plate on the timing cover? It's on ebay for like 15 bucks (timing cover). Should I buy it, and throw a block off plate on it?

I'm still gonna build it, buy I want something I can have some fun with for a while. Also I think it would be better to go with a less powerful motor right now, and learn how to handle that horsepower. My motor is getting some lifter ticking, and **** oil pressure above 5000 rpm, so I'm just gonna yank it out, and switch over. I can't beat the price, $2169 for a long block that makes 350hp. Also I decided to get rid of my bronco, and get another Mustang for daily driving, so I kinda don't need to be spending $7000 on my motor right now. http://www.mustangworks.com/interact...oard/smile.gif

Yup, you can use a block off plate on it.
I think that Ford lists one in their racing parts catalog M-9351-A302, I'm pretty sure that's the one that'll do the trick. Its in the "chrome parts" section in the middle of the catalog. Hope that helps.

These guys are right but there is one more thing to keep in mind, the water pump from older models is different , late eightys are aluminum, with certain holes for mounting bracketry, some earlier models are steel with different mounting bracket bosses. iv'e been through this little timing cover thing and when you find out the hard way , far from your tools, it sucks.when you purchase the timing cover gasket set you will find at least 3 different gaskets for this.This mounting stuff could become an issue for you.

Where are you getting that motor from? I'm looking at rebuilding my top end, but for that price I just might buy a new motor. Also what is the price for shipping?
