Ok, where to start. I suppose the best place is about me personally.

My name is Ken, I live right outside of Philly, I am 18. Those are the simple facts.

I have been a mustang lover since I can remember, my uncle has always owned one. Then, 5 years ago my mom made purchase of a bone stock '73 ragtop with a 302 under the hood. Beautiful mint condition body...then about a year ago she tried to sell it..I stepped in to grab it. I was the owner for a short 3-4 months, when suddenly I was working 1 day a week and couldn't afford the payments to my mom, so there it went.

Months later, a better job, and a renewed thirst to sit behind the wheel of a mustang..I went searching for a used or new car..I was disappointed with how little I made, compaired to car payments. But lady luck be on my side when I found a used 2000 sitting at a Ford dealership!! It was perfect, 5 speed, 3.8L..just in my price range.

So, 3 days ago...it sits in my driveway. Mirror shined black..sitting there beckoning me to drive it. And here I am, in search of info, and friendship.

Now, what do I want to do? Make my beast even meaner then I think it is http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/wink.gif First on the list, dual exhaust with a set of flows, next? Bigger gears, perhaps 3.73...thena performance chip..next? I've know idea. I don't know much about late model mustangs. Perhaps after those few adjustments I will work on getting some rims and tires..but I'd rather work up performance, but that wouldn't be good w/o some nice wheels.

What's up Ken? Is that a typo and you meant to say 4.6L or do you have a V-6? I'd go for the gear swap first. If you do have the 4.6L, the heads and intakes flow exceptionally well for being stock and will respond nicely to a supercharger.

No typo, I've only got a 6 under the hood. But that is good enough for me.

Welcome to the board! There's nothing wrong with the sixes at all. There are quite a few speed parts out there for the 3.8 and the Small Ponies Forum here on Mustangworks has some very knowledgeable six owners. If you haven't checked it out yet then take a peek and start learnin'!

There's a pretty good back issue of 5.0 mustang magazine that has a few sections on v-6 mods. The car actually made a hell of a lot of power.

Welcome to Mustangworks! There's no shame in the 99+ v6's. If I were you, I'd put an exhaust system, gears, pulleys, and some better looking rims on it, and you'd have a nice ride that could hang with the 94-98 stock GT's. Keep us informed of your mods.
