Mercedes???
 

as usual i was taking my 01 cobra for a sunday drive just me and the family when this mercedes came up next to me and gave me a few revs. so i thought it would be fun, i let him go first and when he was about a car lenght in front of me i punch it grab second and creep up on him i can see him looking over as i hit third and pass him, the funny thing was that he stayed right on my tail, about four blocks later we come up to a stop light again i asked him what he had he said he was running some nos then he took off and said good race. my question is is it possible for him to stay on my tail, cause i had a hard time pulling away? dont know what type of mercedes it was but it seemed to be quick.

I 1/2 ran a MLK 600 Roadster or something like that a few weeks ago. Mercedes put a 6.0L V-12 in that thing. I had him a little when we'd run, nearly dead even after 2nd, but he kept screwing around with me. Ricer crap. http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/mad.gif

Next time see if it has an AMG badge on it. Watch out for those. They are sure sleepers and competition for cobras. But what do you expect for $80,000?

My friend's dad has a 1990 500 SEL, or SL, or- it's the 2-door convertible with a V-8 auto. It runs high 14's in the quarter, stock. Don't underestimate those cars.

Not only does Mercedes have cars that can seriously run, but those frigin M5s and Jag XJRs haul *** too.

ya, if a mercedes pulls up next to you, just laugh and be happy. he spent at *least* twice as much on his car, and i don't think its twice as fast.....
