Best GT year?
I was searching the acrhives to see if I could find the answer.... But which is the better GT model year 99, 00, or 01? |
I think they are all pretty close to the same car (I am not aware of any changes).
Personally I like the styling of the '01 GT's the best. ------------------ 1995 Mustang GT |
i *don't* like the styling of the '01 for the same reasons as you (cause they only made a few changes!). in 01, the enlarged all the scoops, which i think are very stupid and ricey anyway, as they are non-functioning. the hood scoop is easy to make functional though, just drill it out in the pattern that is on the plastic, it will at least get some heat out of the engine bay.

The reason I asked about the best years, is not for the look but other things. I heard one year was underpowered, and things having to be replaced. That's what I'm talking about. Which years are the best or improved- 99, 00, 01.

I'd stay away from the first model year after a design change. Found that out the hard way with my cooling system. Just my $.02
http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/wink.gif I'd go with a '00 or '01. ------------------ 96 Crystal White Cobra Coupe 4:10 gears, off-road h-pipe, 2 chamber flowmasters, K&N, pulleys, FMS springs, polyurethane bushing, Steeda Caster/Camber plates |

I like the new scoops on the '01 GT. Although I will admit the fact that they are non-functional is pretty dumb. I agree with the idea of drilling holes or making the scoops functional. They made the side scoops on my 95 GT are functional, why not the newer GT's?! ------------------ 1995 Mustang GT |
I was referring to the piece of crap t-45 and the overheating problem some cobra's (96) have. Yeah the 99 was a big mess up but at least they fixed it.
