Two Very Cool Pictures
We had SCRA Sprints running at Ventura Raceway Sept. 1st, and these two pictures are from a collision that occurred. The red car in the middle of both pictures is one of the few that is running an all aluminum Ford 410ci (note the headers) dry sump engine. These engines put out over 850hp. In the 2nd picture, you can see that his fuel cell has already been ripped completely off the car. He was very lucky there wasn't a fire. This little incident probably resulted in close to $20k in broken parts between the three cars.
Also, as a footnote to you guys that have been following my other Sprint pics, if you look at the rear wheels on the #30 car (upsidedown) in the 1st picture, you will notice what a big difference there is in size from left to right. This is called "stagger", and has to be done in order for the cars to be able to begin a turn. Remember, the rear axle is solid! http://www.greywolfphotos.com/SCRA%2...k-Murphy-1.jpg http://www.greywolfphotos.com/SCRA%2...k-Murphy-2.jpg Take care ~Chris ------------------ Retired Moderator MustangNet My site: JimPorterRacing RACECAR spelled backwards is RACECAR HEY !!! That's just for an engine like the one in the other cars in the pictures. The starting price is near the top center of the page.
