Air Silencer
Which years have the air silencer, that everybody says the removed? Was it 88 through 93 or something? Thanks...

I think all stangs 86-01 have some sort of one, i could be wrong.
but i know 86-93 have them for sure. |
I believ that the model year there is 87-93, and yes they do definently have them.
|
Should be from the first efi--'86--to present. If memory serves me correctly '85 was the last year for factory carbs.

my 95 has one, my friend has a 94, he had one, my dad has an 00 and my other friend has a 92 they have all had them...

Is it something worth removing? What does that actually do? Thanks...
|
It's worth the effort to remove it since it might give you 1 or 2 more horsepower just for removing it.
All it does is try and make the sound of the incoming air more quiet. I wonder if there has ever been a dyno run with it on and with it off to see what the true numbers are for removing it? |
Actually, there is a dyno. I have a dyno book. It shows like a 5-6 hp gain at the wheels.
