Server hangup??

Hey guys! I have been having trouble big time getting into your awesome site lately! When I try to load, the frames come up as "Server Hangup" or "Connection Reset by peer". Is it just high volumes of traffic, or is there something wrong, or is it my computer??!! It took me forever to get in here!!!As I look at the page now, all of the side and bottom frames say "server hangup" and "connection reset by peer"! Well, I hope it's not a huge problem!!! Good luck if it is a glitch! and wish me luck if it's my computer!!!

Joe,

I too have had a hard time getting into the site, especially today. I believe it is the server traffic that is causing the problems. If you read the Mustangworks newsletter that was sent to you (if you chose to receive it), it states that the CGI script that is used to run this Message board is hogging up the server's hard drive, CPU, and memory. Dan is currently looking into getting a nother server, just for the message board. Please, hang in there.

No, right now it actually IS a problem with the web server machine. There is something wrong on the system. It is most likely being caused by a couple stuck processes running on the box that aren't shutting down. We are working on the problem with our hosting provider right now.

Thanks for the quick reply, I thought my computer was having another attack! Hate it when that happens..... Well, good luck fixing it, I hope all goes well! I really would miss this site if it ever went down, even just a few days for repair!!! I'll keep trying back!
Sincerely,
Joe

There is a still something drastically wrong, and as of now, our hosting company hasn't been able to find the problem. I hoping they can resolve the problem SOON.

It seems that the server is now fixed. Hopefully it stays that way, what a nightmare!!!

Great! I'm glad to see it was running good when I logged on! Was it an easy fix or complicated? I'll keep my fingers crossed anyways!!! I know these computer glitches can be rough, I go through them all the time, but I'm sure they are miniscule compared to the huge computers you must be running! Thanks again for keeping this cool site running! I'm sure we ALL appreciate it!
Sincerely,
Joe

It was a #($ $*$& (*%&$# (*&%^$!!

We had to upgrade the system to a newer version of Apache and redo our entire server configuration. I guess it was a combination of things, but we finally got it rolling again.

Uhhh Sorry Dan, can't understand symbols...its a little too cryptic for me. Why don;t you post it in binary? or hex?

joe4speed 11-18-1999 02:24 AM

An upgrade.... hmmmm..... more horsepower, I hope! I'm glad to see you got it all figured out!
