Stupid Pop-up Ads!

ARGH!!!!

Could it be more annoying? Am I missing something, or should it be normal to have the reloading of the ads on top of the screen to interrupt me while trying to type a message for any forum? I got interrupted 3 time just typing this!!!

This is the type of thing that would drive me to no longer post or visit the site if it's going to be such a hassle.

...and another thing...

"Scratch and win"?!?!?!?!?!

Couldn't we at least see some ads that we might be interested in. (Like Mustang PARTS!!)

...darnit interrupted again!

ARGH!

What web browser and version are you using?

As far as the ads go, you may not be interested in every one of them, but some people are. Additionally, some ads may not be automotive related, but everyone that comes here also has other interests. Furthermore, they pay to have them here just like any Mustang shop and that's what keeps this site operating.

Netscape 4.04 currently

If there is some update available, can you tell me where to find it?

I understand that sites like this need sponsors to exist, but it just makes it all the more annoying when my typing is interrupted by someone telling me to gamble.

That doesn't make any sense. The whole site should not "refresh". Only the banner frame. Well, regardless, download the latest version of Netscape which is 4.7, as far as I know. Please let me know if that fixes the problem.

By the way, what platform (computer, and OS) are you on?

Well Dan, I decided to reply to this message and see if the ads were messing anything up for me. I am seeing the ads update as I am typing, but it is not affecting anything I am doing. Looks good from here. Thanks, also, for fixing the back button problem.

Later,

Yes, that is how the ad frame is designed to work. It is supposed to update to change ads, however, it should not affect the content frame. WebTV has a problem however because even though it uses the IE engine for its web browser, it's altered and does not support frames correctly. It shows you the content of the frames but converts the site into a straight static page. Therefore, when the ad would update, so does the entire page.

For anyone wondering what WebTV looks like, go to the WebTV site (I think it's http://www.webtv.net and download the WebTV software for the PC. Then view any of your favorite sites. Man, everthing on the web looks like crap with that thing. Ugh!

Dan,

Current setup is a Dell Latitude Laptop/Docking station running WIN98 and latest office 2000 pkg. I'm not a huge computer guru, so forgive me if I was specific enough. I tried to download the latest browser update, but was unsuccessful probably due to the company firewall. I will attempt to get this taken care of...

Although, now it seems to be allowing me to type uninterrupted. Go figure. Incidentally, the "back button" fixed worked fine for me immediately after you did it, but my "reply" typing was screwed up. All seems well now. Thank you for your patience.
