Tired of getting beat...what should I do next?

I got beat really bad my first time racing by a stock T-5 GT driven by a friend. I have crappy heads and the car has the listed mods and the engine has 132k on it. I am saving for a Kenne Bell and may have it by Aug. 3.73's are coming via boat. Nitrous is not available here. Are there any bolt ons that I could get that would be usable when I put the supercharger on to help me beat the 5-speeds? I was thinking of an intake but the Kenne Bell replaces the upper so I would have to take it off anyway. August seems so far away!

I wouldn't be running 3.73's with a Kenne Bell... ZERO traction.

That thing is gonna put the thunder down on the pavement well under 3000rpms. Well, maybe the auto will keep you under control.

Get some GT-40 irons, cheap used performance. If they are in good shape you shouldn't need to any rebuilding on them. Also a quality torque converter, but now you're talking quite a bit of cash. Still, a good one will pay some pretty good dividends.

The GT-40's will make a HUGE difference when you get some boost.

Well, if that's an all-original (internally) engine, then you're going to wanna get what Unit said (heads), plus a Cobra intake and a 65mm throttle body. If you get a MAF conversion, consider 1.7 rockers or an E303. This should get you moving. http://www.mustangworks.com/interact...oard/smile.gif

Whaddya mean nitrous isn't available? Don't they have dentists in Italy? Steal a couple of cylinders for the rest of us, hehehehehe.

If your motor has 132 thousand miles on it I wouldnt reccomend supercharging it. You'll probably blow your rear main seal or spin a bearing. Why not save the supercharger money and get a GT40 longblock? It might be couple hundred more than the supercharger but its worth it. That motor with 373's and a convertor alone should easily put you in the 13's. Thats about where you would be with the supercharger but you would have a LOT more durability and you just might save gas too since its 5 bucks a gallon if you go over your limit. http://www.mustangworks.com/interact...rd/biggrin.gif just a thought.

I was thinking about a set of heads also but I am pretty sure just about everything will hit the pistons because I don't have valve reliefs. I will be very happy if I am wrong though. Does anyone know if the GT-40's will work? I know I would have to get a 130 amp but would pullies and a fan make a difference together? Wow, being slow sucks.
