shifters

What is the best shifter for a '97 Mustang 5-speed? I have heard that Pro 5.0 is the way to go, but lately I've heard a lot about the new Steeda Triax shifter. Any advice is welcome.

I have the Steeda on my 98 GT and don't have any complaints at all. Go with the Steeda.

While both the Pro 5.0 and Steeda Tri-Ax are awesome shifters: I have to vote for my fav, the Steeda Tri-Ax....
If I were you, I would try to find vehicles equipped with each one to see how they feel (If possible), as it usually comes down to a matter of taste.

I gotta plug the Steeda Tri-Ax. The thing is the best made part I have ever seen. I have mine adjusted to the shorter setting and its just crazy (yet comfortable). I swear I could kick the thing from 2nd to 3rd. Its a really nice piece.

At the same time I can't say I have ever heard anybody complain about the Hurst or the Pro 5.0. If you're lucky enough to test them all out, go for it. If you can't I would take the chance on the Steeda.

I appreciate all the advice. I have tested out the PRO 5.0 on another car, but have yet to get my hands on the steeda. I was impressed by the 5.0, but from the advice given, I'm leaning towards the steeda. Thanx for the advice.

You can't go wrong with either. I have the Pro 5.0 and wouldn't trade for anything. Either one is a huge improvement over stocker.

I have tried both the Tri-ax and Pro 5.0 and they about the closest you can come to be the same shifters, the only differance that I noticed was the handles. As you can see I went with the Pro 5.0
