Throttle Position Sensor
What's the easiest way to tell whether the TPS is actually giving a WOT signal to the processor? Any ideas? I need some techies to the rescue http://216.59.112.100/interactive/msgboard/wink.gif

Use a multi-meter to measure the ouput voltage.

4.5-5.0 VDC should be WOT.
|
Connect a voltmeter to the center wire on you TPS and with the key on open the throttle. If its working the voltage will increase, thus it is sending a signal.

I don't know if this helps, but I found this at Promustang.com. It tells you how to check your TPS voltage, and adjust it. But I think it's for a 5.0. Our 4.6 is a little different looking, but maybe this will help.

Thanks folks,
The nitrous is about to go on this weekend, and it uses the signal from the TPS to start/adjust the juice flow... Just making sure everything is a thumbs up BEFORE installation... http://216.59.112.100/interactive/msgboard/wink.gif ------------------ 98 GT Dyno-Max cat-back exhaust, 3.73 gears, Steeda shifter, Ford Motorsport Underdrive pullies, 87mm MAF and Roush cold air kit... |
the easiest way i found is to hook up a scan tool and check it in data stream.
