No HP in my Saleen
I got a 1996 Saleen Mustang and the thing needs more HP. I ran it on the track this past Sunday and it ran (a best) of 15.5 @ 91mph. The 60ft times were horrible but still, the mph isn't that great. What little tricks can I do to get some HP in my baby for cheap? I'm thinking of installing a homemade cold air induction system. Would pulleys and a throttle body make my 'Stang a 14 sec machine?

Oh yeah... It's a Saleen S281 with 57,000 miles on it and I've been told that there is some head work done to it. It already has a K & N Filtercharger on it (which I cleaned yesterday). If any more information is needed, let me know.

I have heard that the n/a Saleens were slow but damn for 50g's it should go a little faster than that.I have a 96GTthat turned a 14.98 w/just an h-pipe and a k&n.Your car should have full borla exhust and a chip upgrade,3.55 gear sand sport springs.Put 125 or 150 shot of nitrous You will drop those numbers to high to mid 12's.

In 5.0 mag the 65mm TB was only good for 3 HP in the rear wheel dyno test. Spend your money elsewhere first.

That is like way slow......I run a 96 s281 in the mid 12's without a lot of trouble. Try Underdrive pulleys, Roush cold air intake (get rid of the home made stuff) 80 mm air mass, 70 mm throttle body, ZEX nitrous, Borla exhaust through 3:55 gears..... Your SALEEN should go much faster.........
