Why the head switch

Why are people switching heads in the 98 and lower mustangs with a 99-2000 heads. Do they want to get the same amount of hp in their cars as the 99-2000's. Or will the
99-2000 heads give them more hp than the 99- 2000.

The big portion of the HP jump from 225 to 260 was due to new heads on the 99-00 compared to the 98. From what I've read, a gain of around 30 horses can be had by going to the SVO heads or the 99-00 heads. Taking into account the price of 96-98 SVO heads, some are taking a somewhat cheaper route and strapping on heads from 99-00 models....

Its not just the heads, but also the intake manifold, and a long list of other parts totaling like $1400. I already have the intake manifold and gaskets sitting in my garage. The install at Ford runs like $1000 too, but it includes a warranty.
