mufflers or not

I was wondering what the draw backs (or advantages)were to running no mufflers besides the law. I mean performance wise. I am taking off my stock cats and flows to get a MAC system and for about 2 weeks i will be running no cats or exaust (unless i am told there will be problems)

You do need some back preasure, for if nothing else, low end torque. Not on a Mustang, but have heard of people burning exhaulst valves running with out mufflers. Too much exhaulst scavenging.

I would go with some sort of muffler.

Don't drive it running straight off the headers. I had mine off from the exhaust manifold back, and it was loud as hell!! It just sat in my garage for a month waiting for my parts. You would be imbarrased to drive it like that. Don't take off the old parts 'til you get the new stuff.

I know I should wait, but as you guys know, it's a whole lot easier to pay for new parts with the money from old parts.
