These #'s any good??

Got some dyno numbers this past week. 278@5200 rwhp and 307@4400 rwt. My mods include edelbrock peformer rpm heads, trickflow street intake, 1.7 rocker arms, 70mm tb and maf, cold air induction, underdrive pulleys, 255 fuel pump, 24# injectors, ajustable fuel regulator, 1 5/8 equal shorties, offroad h, and flowmasters, with some port work done on lower intake and headers. Think i am getting the max power or close to it out of my combo?

If that's with an automatic, those numbers are pretty damn good. You can figure between a 15%-20% loss of power through an automatic drivetrain. If it's with a manual, not AS good, but still not too shabby. With an automatic you're looking at about 320hp-335hp and maybe 355-365 lb/ft. (roughly) at the flywheel. With a manual the numbers would be a bit less, but still good. Doesn't sound quite as bad now, does it?

If that's with a stock cam then I'd say they're pretty good, a bigger cam could get you closer to the 300@ the wheels level with peak power up a few hundred rpms, especially since you've got good heads and intake and the car peaks at only 5200.

Actually the T-5 manual is good for about 17% power loss, the AOD costs you 22%.

You'd be at 335hp, 370lb/ft with the T-5.

You'd be at 356hp, 394lb/ft with the AOD.

Based on those numbers anyway, oh and the C-4 will cost you about 19%.

Pretty good numbers for the stock cam! Really good if you have the auto.

I think you need to switch your cam desperatly. You have the RPM performer heads. Those are ment to spin a bit higher. Your peakign at 5200rpm, thats pretty low for a modded motor. Change that cam and get it tuned you should make around 300rwhp@5800-5900rpm

These are some numbers from my driver,,,

I think all you are looking for is the cam to optimize your combination..
Hope this helps..
