Stupid question
 

Ok, I was wondering, is there a governor on my 98 Mustang? Because the dealer said there wasn't, but he looked like he knew more about a Chevy Camaro than a Mustang, so, I wasn't sure. My friend said there was. Can someone set things straight?

I heard that if you didn't get the upgraded 17 inch wheels with Z-rated tires then there was a factory installed governer....???At like 112mph. Speedo may show 120 if you have 3:73's.

I can definitely say that the 112 mph governor is bs. I've got the 16 inch tires on my stang and when I had the 2.73s in my car it just cruised at 120. I was following a friend of mine, he was in his 95 SHO and I in my stang, to a Mustang car show and made a usual 30 minute trip into about 10 minutes doing 120 the whole way.
